Grand Rapids · Est. Family Recipe
At La Guadalupana, every tortilla is rolled by hand each morning. Pair them with our house-made enchiladas, tamales, and sopes — real Mexican food, right here in Grand Rapids.
Our Story
La Guadalupana began with a simple conviction: that the best tortillas are made slowly, by hand, with corn that's been nixtamalized the old way. What started as a small kitchen operation has grown into a Grand Rapids staple — a place where neighbors come for breakfast tacos and stay for the conversation.
Our kitchen opens early every morning. The masa is mixed, pressed, and cooked before the city wakes up. That commitment to freshness carries through every dish on our menu — from our sopes and enchiladas to our daily specials, all prepared from scratch in-house.
The Tortilleria
Every tortilla at La Guadalupana follows the same process our family has used for generations: dry corn is nixtamalized in calcium hydroxide, washed, ground on a stone mill, kneaded into masa, pressed by hand, and cooked on a comal. No shortcuts. No preservatives.
We sell tortillas by the piece, by the pack, and by the kilo — for home cooks, other restaurants, and caterers throughout the Grand Rapids area. If it's not made this morning, it doesn't leave our kitchen.
